Jordan Dimitrie: Working Her Way Up at Waltonwood Main

Taking on duties as a full-time Caregiver is already a huge responsibility. But for Jordan Dimitrie, there’s always more to be done. She decided to kick it up a notch and remain active professionally, academically, and physically. This is no simple task. While consistently tending to resident needs at Waltonwood Main, Jordan was also studying to earn her bachelor’s degree in counseling while actively lifting weights. Being a Colorado native herself, she loves spending time with nature.

“I was able to work full time as a Caregiver and be a full-time student in order to pay my way through undergrad. It was one of the hardest, most rewarding things I’ve ever accomplished,” Jordan said. “Outside of work, I like to weightlift and do things outdoors…I really enjoy hiking, camping, and being around water.”

Upon earning her degree, she continued to work her way up within the Waltonwood community starting as a Caregiver, Medical Technician, and Supervisor before accepting her current role as the Move-In Coordinator. Jordan strives to use her skills and career as an opportunity to make others feel appreciated. Waltonwood’s family values ensure that she can do just that for her residents and team members every single day.

“If I notice someone going above and beyond, I make sure to thank them…” she said. “What I love most about working at Waltonwood is that we all view our residents as extended family. We celebrate their birthdays, anniversaries and special events just like we would our own families.”

Despite earning her bachelor’s, Jordan has every intention of continuing her academics. To expand on her love of helping others, she hopes to complete a master’s degree in counseling while continuing her full-time work with Singh. Until then, she loves the work she accomplishes each day with her team by her side.

“I’m a team player and will dive into whatever roll is needed that day if that means helping the team,” she explained. “During the COVID-19 pandemic, we all worked together as a team to make the community safe for all of its employees and residents. We put all of our fears and frustrations aside to get the necessary duties done safely.”

Singh cares for their employees which is what drew Jordan’s attention when starting her career. She couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to serve others while working hard for herself.
